Experience Matters!
Experience is a gift that can only be gained by living in the moment, and it greatly increases the quality of the work we do. These are the rich experiences I will bring to the job of City Council member, District 1:
Susan's experience includes:
- 34 years in public education—26 of those teaching middle school in Poudre School District
- Two terms on the Poudre School District Board of Education
- Member of the Project Smile Board—Thank you Ron Lautzenheiser for bringing free dental care to the most vulnerable children in Poudre School District!
- Participating with the Lion’s Club to provide vision screening and glasses for PSD students.
- Distributing Coats and Boots to elementary school children in PSD—Thank you Don Butler for your tireless fundraising to make these winter gifts possible!
- Volunteering with the NoCo Humane Society—focusing on community outreach and fundraising. Such rewarding work!
- Former liaison to the Historic Preservation Commission.
- Former liaison to the Cultural Resources Board
- Former liaison to the Parks/Recreation Board
- Currently serving on the Behavioral Health Policy Council—privileged to work on the board to bring the Longview Behavioral Health Center to fruition.
- Currently serving on the Downtown Development Authority
- Currently serving as chair of the Poudre Fire Authority Board
- Currently serving as a commissioner on the Urban Renewal Authority Board—working to mitigate blight in north Fort Collins.
- Currently serving as liaison to the Art in Public Places Board.
- Current board member for the Museo de Las Tres Colonias.
