Six years ago, you put your trust in me and elected me to represent District 1 on City Council.

I promised you I would work to keep our neighborhoods safe, clean, and livable. This sense of purpose has guided my actions every day as I serve our community. I believe I have been able to keep my promises by listening to and supporting the unique needs of our residents. I will never forget that I work for YOU!

I grew up with my Hispanic single mom in inner-city Los Angeles, where we barely survived month to month. For me, poverty is a lived experience, which is why I am passionate in my belief that everyone in Fort Collins has the right to be safe, sheltered, and respected.

I have now called Fort Collins my home for the past 46 years, and have devoted years of service as a public school teacher in PSD, school board member, and city council representative. Let me use my valuable experience to keep working for YOU as your voice on City Council for the next four years.

  • Advocate for local control to maintain safe, clean, livable neighborhoods

  • Achieve true housing affordability, through innovative strategies, without creating sprawl or overcrowding existing neighborhoods

Work for the people of Fort Collins

  • Oppose limitations on public comment at City Council meetings and enhance opportunities for outreach and collaboration between community members and City Council

  • Promote community involvement in development decisions

  • Help senior citizens connect to available resources and activities

Support people and businesses in our local economy

  • Maintain adequate downtown parking
  • Support the vitality of our small/local businesses

  • Promote workforce development of PSD students to enhance job opportunities

  • Use your tax dollars wisely, while helping people and local businesses weather inflation and the affordability crisis

Promote public health & safety

  • Maintain our stellar parks and recreation programs for the physical and mental well-being of residents
  • Enhance safe routes to school and prioritize completion of the trail system to connect north side neighborhoods

  • Generate opportunities for vulnerable populations to achieve acceptance, respect and belonging

While there are three candidates in the District 1 race, the starkest difference is between Susan and the candidate who supports unrestricted growth.

If Daisy is your preferred choice, please vote Susan #2.
